Dear Future, was born from a simple but radical idea: the future doesn’t need answers — it needs better questions. With full creative freedom, we developed the identity and campaigns for this festival on social innovation.

This was one of my favorite festival concepts to create as an art director. Brand new. Carte blanche. In a house in Rotterdam, a temporary studio emerged — filled with models, props, photographers, stylists and make-up artists — all working toward a fresh campaign for a festival on social innovation. “Can you arrange a velomobile — a banana bike — for the shoot?” Sure we can.

Evolving from the European Social Innovation Week, Dear Future, became a platform for thinkers, dreamers and changemakers across Europe. Five editions. Over 100 program elements. A festival that didn’t predict the future — but asked you to shape your own.
